Founded in the late autumn of 1888, Old is Gold Cafe was envisioned as a sanctuary for writers, artists, and thinkers of the Victorian era. While the world rushed headfirst into industrialization, our founders carved out a space dedicated entirely to slow conversation, velvet seating, and perfectly prepared roasts.
To this day, we refuse the modern shortcuts. Our signature blends are roasted using a fully restored 1890s open-flame cast iron roaster, yielding a distinctly rich flavor profile that modern automated machines simply cannot replicate.
From our porcelain tableware to our tuxedo-dressed servers, we hold fast to the rituals that turn an ordinary cup of coffee into an extraordinary afternoon.
